SMOOTHIES! Raw fruit, veg and salad. 80% Raw natural foods either in their natural state or
I’m still loving this way of living, there are so many fruits, veg and salad combinations I have yet to try. Mainly because the things I like are seasonal, for instance, pumpkins only seem to be readily available in October, just to scoop out and put a candle in. This is completely unfair, I absolutely LOVE pumpkin soup!
Anyways, I have a busy day with the little one today, so I need something to help me keep up- energy wise I’ve been flagging. This smoothie was absolutely delicious. Admittedly it’s been a bit of a chore, I do miss my juicer. I’ve realised fruits taste better than lots of veg blended together, I’m adding seeds and nuts to get that extra energy boost. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, then this smoothie is definitely one for you to try…
- 3 walnuts
- Half an Avocado

Blend the following together with water – Avocado, Spinach, Ginger, Lemon Juice & Wheatgrass. Pour into your glass. Blend the remaining ingredients, again with a little water and pour onto your spinach mix. Sprinkle with Flaxseed and enjoy!
Wheatgrass- Contains all minerals known to man, and vitamins A, B-complex, C, E, l and K. It is extremely rich in protein and is also a powerful detoxifier, especially of the liver and blood.

Eating spinach on a regular basis helps prevent osteoporosis and iron-deficiency anaemia along with cardiovascular diseases, cancers of colon and prostate.
Avocado- Loaded With Heart-Healthy Monounsaturated Fatty Acids, yes it’s calorific but this little gem shouldn’t be overlooked. Great for skin, nails, hair and eyes! Avocados can help prevent eye diseases as well as lower your cholesterol and blood sugars.
Banana- Bananas have a unique mix of vitamins, minerals, and low glycemic carbohydrates which has made them a favourite amongst gym goers and athletes. Bananas aid digestion and maintains normal blood pressure and heart function.
Lemon juice- Lemon juice is rich in Vitamin C and helps the body to absorb calcium and fight osteoporosis.
Oh my goodness, never thought to add manuka honey! Will deffo be using this recipe!
I have flaxseed oil im wondering if I can add it to the smoothies. I’ve never used it before.
Flaxseed a a great oil as it contains omega-3 and omega6 fatty acids-(fab for skin, hair nails and general health!) HOWEVER speak to your Dr before taking it, especially if you are taking certain medications. Flaxseed oil may interact with some medications including blood thinners, cholesterol-lowering statins, and diabetes medications! x
